This EP would not exist without the ar- rangement help and musical ideas from band mates Chris Tarrow, Steve Mayone and Jason Mercer. I thank them each for their contributions to this project. A heartfelt thanks also to Kate Steinberg for such beau- tiful harmony vocals and Alex Hargreaves for his unbelievable fiddle playing.

A final thank you to Ava Roth, my dear friend and artist who has lent her beautiful artwork to this album package. Her encaustic paint- ing and embroidery (layers of wax, tissue paper and photography both laminated and bisected, then joined and connected by thread and wire) were to me an immediate visual representation of these songs. Just as these images explore the tensions between permanent and temporary, solid and delicate, transparent and opaque, so too do these songs explore the same such things through sound.
